Trinity Basketball has grown into one of the most vibrant, successful, and inclusive sports communities in Trinity College Dublin. But behind every win, every training session, and every opportunity we offer lies the generous support of people like you.
As a student-run club, we rely heavily on donations to sustain and grow our programmes. Your contribution directly helps us:
No matter the size, every donation makes a genuine difference. It helps ensure Trinity Basketball continues to thrive — on the court and in our community.
If you’d like to support us, please consider making a donation today. Together, we can keep building something special.
Our growing club needs fresh kit each year for our players to represent Trinity with pride on and off the court. With limited resources, donations help us keep our teams looking professional as we compete nationally and internationally.
Balls, training gear, medical supplies, and technology all cost money — and we simply don’t have enough funding for the equipment our expanding programme requires. Your support ensures our players train safely and perform
at their best.
We want to attract and support talented student-athletes who can help Trinity excel nationally and internationally. With limited funds, donations directly help us offer scholarships that keep top talent in our programme.
Skilled coaching is crucial for player development and team success. However, quality coaching requires resources we often lack. Donations help us invest in top coaching talent to keep Trinity Basketball competitive and thriving.
Travel is key for competing in leagues, Varsities,, and national and international tournaments. Right now, funding limits where we can go and how many players we can bring. Your support helps cover transport and accommodation costs, ensuring Trinity can proudly compete at every level.
We’re committed to making a difference through our partnership with NEIC Trojans, delivering coaching, camps, school sessions, and after-school clubs in Dublin’s inner city. But outreach takes resources we don’t always have. Donations help us keep inspiring and supporting young people who look up to Trinity’s players as role models.
Right now, we rely on the Trinity Sports Centre, which is in high demand from many clubs and teams. We can’t afford to book external venues, and our limited court time restricts how much we can train and develop. Donations help us secure more court hours and keep pace with our growing membership and competitive ambitions.
Events like Colours, pub quizzes, and awards nights build our club spirit and connect players and alumni. But running these events costs money we don’t always have. Donations help us keep these traditions strong and make Trinity Basketball a true community on and off the court.
There are many ways to support Trinity Basketball. You can make a one-time donation, set up a recurring monthly gift, or contribute a larger sponsorship for a specific programme or need. Some supporters choose to donate equipment, sponsor an event, or fund a scholarship. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a real difference to our players and our community.
If you’re an alum, you might also consider giving through Trinity Development & Alumni channels to support the club directly. Businesses and organisations can explore tailored sponsorship packages to suit their brand and values.
We deeply value the generosity of everyone who supports Trinity Basketball. All donors will be acknowledged on our website
(unless you prefer to remain anonymous).
Major supporters and sponsors may also be featured in club communications, match-day programmes, and at events.
We believe it’s important to celebrate the people and organisations who help us grow. Your support doesn’t just fund our ambitions —
it becomes part of the Trinity Basketball story.
This year’s Colours basketball series between Trinity College Dublin and UCD was played for the Mullan Somers Cup, named after and sponsored by
alumni donors Paul Somers and George Mullan.
This trophy was generously donated by Paul and George, whose ongoing support and connection to Trinity Basketball have helped preserve and strengthen the spirit of the Colours tradition. Their contribution ensures that future generations of players can compete for a trophy that represents pride, rivalry, and the enduring bonds within the Trinity basketball community.
We sincerely thank Paul and George for their generous sponsorship and commitment to the club.
